No more insecurities!

Hair loss or shrinkage due to chemotherapy, entire brain radiation, or raloxifene care for breast cancer can make you wonder if a wig is right for you.

To hide hair loss and give you a look that is either similar to your pre-treatment appearance or completely different, wigs can be a great option. The sun and cold air can’t harm your hair with these on.

Many women will find that wearing a costume helps them keep everyday life and consistency during cancer treatment. People may not ask questions about one’s appearance or diagnosis if you wear one, which provides privacy. It’s fun to play around with distinct styles and colours and other headwear, such as turbans or scarves, at the same time for some people.

Prepare for wig-wearing

Preparation is vital if you consider getting one after undergoing chemotherapy or another diagnosis resulting in hair loss. For instance: Find and take a few pictures of the hairstyle you like best. If you decide that’s what you want, you’ll have an easier time finding one that’s close to your desired colour, length, and style.

Get rid of your long locks. Losing quick clumps of hair is less traumatic and easier to wear than long ones. For one thing, if you get used to having short hair, you won’t even notice as long as you feel like yourself again when your hair grows back out again.

Before beginning any treatment that may result in hair loss, think about getting them. With more energy and trial sessions of wearing that, you could get used to it and your hair.

How to pick the correct one

Choosing one that fits, is of high quality, and is a good match for you is simple:

First, take a “capsize” measurement of your head using a cloth measuring tape. Two of them may be in order: one that closely matches your existing hair and the other that is an exciting departure in terms of length, colour, or style.

Consider a shade that is a shade or two lighter than your natural hair colour. During chemotherapy, your skin may appear grey, green, or yellowish. Opt for a colour palette with a lower contrast ratio to avoid drawing attention to your skin tone.

Choose between a synthetic fibre, hair, or a combination of the two. Synthetics are the choice for the majority of women. For the finest, most organic ones you can afford, go with the most expensive ones. A lace and front nylon top are two of the essential features that make it appear natural. To make the wig’s top look more natural, nylon tops or parts are used to tie or sew the hair in segments into the cap, which would be made of fine, pure material.

Assembling your hairpiece

To ensure a proper fit and proper application, follow these simple instructions:

If your natural hair is long or short, you’ll want to pin it down and wear a nylon or grid cap underneath it to keep it smooth and flat. It will keep the hair in place, absorb moisture, and protect your face and neck from irritation; a wig cap should be worn even if you don’t have hair. Rather than or in addition to this cap, some women love to wear a hairpiece band. It is comparable to a headband in that it does not adhere to this, but it does help to keep it secure while wearing it.

Modify the velcro tabs on its back to have the best fit possible.

Get up close and personal. I placed its front at the hair on top and then squeezed it on in a front-to-back motion with both hands. Centring the false hair can be achieved by using the tabs (located near your temples) on the back of your ears.
